AMPM, a venue that lives up to its name, is a stylish upscale restaurant that caters to downtown Dallas hipsters. Located in the historic Mosaic Building in the core of downtown, everything from the location to the events held is tailored specifically for the young, urban-professional crowd.
Upon arrival to the Mosaic-nested venue, a set of downward spiraled stairs gives you a perfect view of the restaraunt. Glimpses of silver, sexy disco balls hang glittering from the ceiling, providing the bar's black granite counters a perfect accent. The main bar is usually busy with patrons conversing, flirting and enjoying the great specialty beverages, and if you are in for lunch or dinner the environment is chill with people eating and socializing leisurely. You will also find others having casual business meetings. AMPM has several flat screens conveniently situated throughout the space, so for soccer or baseball fans, it's the perfect place to catch those early afternoon games, and the food is quite tasty. The menu features an all-American cuisine with selections such as Chicken and Dumplings, Parmesan-truffle French Fries, Kobe meatloaf and Blackened Snapper Tacos. The Morroccan Spiced Chicken with Lemon & Saffron broth served with cous cous is simply divine. If you're looking for a beverage that is sweet, colorful and has just enough kick, The Flyin' Hawaiian, a house specialty drink, which is a mix of X-Rated liqueur, Tuaca and pineapple juice is always in demand.
In addition to afternoon business lunches and a place to meet your favorite people for dinner, AMPM is worth considering for birthday parties, corporate events and other special occasions. This was the place to be during the 2010 NBA All-Star Weekend, not surprising considering the incredible line up of celebrity appearances and performances, including Drake & Lebron James as well as its close proximity to the American Airlines Center and downtown location. Star-studded appearances have included an event hosted by Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Vivica A. Foxx and a recent event featuring the Alley’s House Charity Fundraising Initiative hosted by designer Nicky Hilton. It is also the official nightclub venue of Remi Ayodele of the Superbowl Champion New Orleans Saints. Dallas promoters along with their fanbase love this spot and schedule the cities biggest events here. Joey the GM and the special events coordinator Jonathan, have a reputation for world class entertainment. It's almost as if they wave a magic wand that sprinkles pixie dust after the restaurant closes and transforms it into a club with V.I.P tables and bottle service. This will definitely be one of the venues to watch during SuperbowlXLVs coming to Dallas in February 2011. AMPM's combination of locacation, decor, food, drinks and celebrity appearances makes it a sure fire destination for those living in and visiting Dallas.
